We at A.K.M.E. pride ourselves on providing great customer service
along with a high quality product. As a small independent company, we have the opportunity to provide the personal service

A.K.M.E. was started by Karen and Shelly, two sisters in
Southern California, who shared the desire to put their creative talents to good use. The girls started A.K.M.E. with an
idea from their dad to make custom signs for classic car show displays. Once the girls had an engraving machine
at their disposal the ideas for other products came non-stop. Even their mom got involved and started a list of things
they could engrave. From car and motorcycle displays to toasting glasses, the possibilities became endless.
As the girls collaborated on the development of their product line, they realized their distinct and opposing
personalities resulted in products that are sure to please even the toughest critics.

Shelly had spent the last 18 years working in the retail industry with great success. Although she excelled in
the industry, she was looking for a more creative and rewarding career. Her experience as a manager has given her a great
understanding of the need for superior customer service. Her management skills have proved effective time and time again even
winning her the honor of Store Manger - Rookie of the Year in her district. It is rumored her success is attributed to
her ability to boss people around, which is sure to continue now that she works with her sister. (The masses feel this
rumor was more than likely started by her sister.)
Shelly is a very talented individual both creatively and
mechanically which has proved to be a great asset to her in both her professional and personal lives. Her experience
in setup design and displays has given her a great understanding of what appeals to the customer.
